The WormSecure 500 is designed to meet the intranet anti-worm security requirements of enterprise-class and small-medium organizations. Each WormSecure 500 protects up to six network segments comprising around 500 nodes. It provides high-performance TCP, UDP, and ICMP packet-scanning throughput of 500Mbps to stop worms faster than they can attack. As an in-line transparent bridge, the WormSecure 500 deploys in a matter of minutes anywhere within a network. Mission-critical high availability is provided through options for fail-open and fail-over.

The WormSecure 500 is a real-time intranet anti-worm appliance. It uses both behavior- and signature-based detection engines to block outbreaks of unknown and known worms. This hybrid detection approach focused on worms eliminates the many false alarms generated by other technologies that attempt to detect a wide range of threats. The appliance also automatically quarantines only malicious traffic, so organizations may continue functioning and infected computers may still use the network to obtain the latest patches and signatures. To remain effective, the WormSecure 500 is supported by a world-class team of engineers and worm experts who maintain a comprehensive network worm signature library that includes all known packet-based worms. Signatures are automatically updated at least once each day, and critical new signatures are typically deployed hours before they are available from leading anti-virus vendors.

The WormSecure 500 is also easy to manage. It includes an LCD display and keypad for ease of configuration and at-a-glance status checks. Users may also access the WormSecure 500 through a secure and intuitive web-based administration console in order to set granular policies; view summary data, logs, and reports; and identify and monitor infected computers for faster remediation.
