New ACL Technology
The iGuard database makes creating filtering policies easy. The administrator creates filtering rules, known as profiles, for networks and user groups by naming the profile, and simply identifying iGuard categories to monitor or block for specific time periods. The resulting time-based filtering rules comprise an ACL or ‘access control list’. iPrism’s access control list technology provides flexible filtering by allowing specific categories such as shopping, banking and online auctions to be accessible during special times of the day, such as lunch, but not accessible during work hours.
