ProxyBlocker - Securing
your network against Web Proxies (NEW
Aug 07)
The
new 8e6 ProxyBlocker appliance is specifically
designed for schools and organisations not using
8e6 filtering solution.
The ProxyBlocker utilises "Proxy
Pattern Detection," a unique signature-based
technology, to detect and block Web-based proxies/anonymizers.
In addition, it also blocks peer-to-peer and instant
messaging applications.
The ProxyBlocker catches requests for anonymous
proxies on the fly, offering continual, real-time
protection. Additionally, the ProxyBlocker identifies
attempts to set up proxy tunnels; prevents these
connections from being made; keeps a record of
the number of times a user tries to circumvent
the filter; and if enabled, denies Internet access
to users in violation of an organisation's Acceptable
Use Policy.
